Current favorite hair products (hair routine)

Hello there!I thought it was time I gave an update on my current favorite hair products. I didn't bother showing shampoo or anything since it's usually fairly similar, so I decided to just share some styling products I love.

First off, if you've seen really any of my hair posts on my blog you'll know I'm obsessed with the Dove dry shampoo. I've tried many dry shampoos and it's the only one that really works for me.

Garnier's Texture Tease is great when I'm looking  for something other than dry shampoo to tease my hair with. it holds the volume really well.

I really love using hair creams on wet hair and Bed Head's Motor Mouth is perfect. it smooths my hair and gives is more texture and volume. It also smells so divine.

Another Garnier product I love is the Root Amp mousse. Great on wet hair when I need a volume boost.

And lastly, Pantene's volume hairspray hold my curls so well!

Hope you're enjoying the first day of Summer!

My morning routine (Weekdays)

A while back, I actually did a Morning/Night Routine but I thought I'd do another morning routine that's more in depth. My morning routine still isn't extravagant but I thought it's worth sharing. I usually wake up around 7 am, leaving me with about an hour to get ready. I really enjoy relaxing a bit in the morning so I like to take my time. I'm sure I could get ready in 30 minutes but I enjoy the extra time.

So starting around 6:55/7:00 am, I wake up and hop out of bed. During weekdays, I don't have time to play around on my phone.

First thing I do is put my makeup on. It wakes me up and makes me feel good. This is when I usually watch some youtube videos.
My current favorite products are: First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Face moisturizer,  Smashbox Photo Finish Primer, Flower Beauty BB Cream, Maybelline FIT Me Concealer, Hard Candy Glamoflauge Concealer, Tarte Smooth Operator Powder, Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, E.l.f. Eyebrow Kit, E.l.f. Brow Gel, Maybelline Great Lash Lots of Lashes, Nivea Lip Butter Blueberry.

Then I either dig through my closet to find an outfit or toss on the outfit I set out the night before.

After that I usually fix up my hair a bit. If I had it in a braid overnight, I'll tease is a bit and fix up a few pieces. If not, I'll straighten it and tease it too.

After hair I'll head downstairs for some breakfast. I usually just have some oatmeal, but if I have a little extra time I like to make something like these healthy blueberry pancakes.

Of course, I've gotta brush my teeth!

Finally I'll spray some perfume. Lately (As in the past year and a half), I've been using Taylor Swift's Wonderstruck Enchanted or Victoria's Secret passion Struck.

And finally, if I have a little extra time, I like to surf Pinterest, Instagram and other social medias.
I then pack my purse, and head out!

(Updated) Skincare Routine

My last skincare routine was over a year ago. I figured it was time to share my updated routine since it has changed quite a bit! I still like to keep my skincare fairly simple since my skin is quite sensitive. I often breakout when I try new products and these are the products that work for me. my skin is combo-oily. My t-zone tends to get super oily throughout the day however I also get dry spots here and there.

I wash my face once a day in the evenings. My favorite cleanser by clean & clear was discontinued so I've been on the hunt for a new one. I've tried a ton and so far Neutrogena's Deep Clean is the one I like most. It lathers fairly well and doesn't leave my face dry or tight.
Once a week or so, I like to exfoliate my face with Queen Helene's scrub. I like this scrub because it's not too harsh.
I also like to use a mask once a week. I usually switch it up but my favorite is First Aid Beauty's Instant Oatmeal Mask. It's really gentle and makes my skin feel so soft.

My holy grail skincare product is Lush's Tea Tree Water. It keeps my acne at bay and I can't go a day without it! It's also really refreshing.
At night, I like using the Nivea Nourishing Night Cream. It's very thick and moisturizing. My skin always feels so soft the morning after.
After the shower, I love using the Ultra Repair Cream from First Aid Beauty all over my body. A little goes a long way!

In the morning, I apply First Aid Beauty's Face Moisturizer. It soaks in super fast allowing me to apply makeup sooner.
I love Nivea lip products for my lips. My favorite lip butter scent is Raspberry Rose.

That's about all I do!

(Updated) Eyebrow Routine!

I feel like I haven't been on my blog for so long! A lot of my recent posts were scheduled since I knew I had a bit of a busy patch. I have a lot of free time now so I'm back on my blog! I recently got my eyebrows done, a couple of weeks ago, and I switched up my brow routine. I thought I'd share it since it is completely different than my last brow routine. I use all drugstore produtcs, but hopefully in the future, I can experiment with some higher end options.
Enjoy!

On most days that I wear makeup, I like to use the e.l.f. Eyebrow Kit in medium. The color goes really well with my hair color and I really love the product. I use the angled brush it come with, since the thinness of the brush gives me a lot of precision.
First I outline the top of my brow, creating a straight line with the left, darker brow gel. Then I follow my brow shape and fill them in lightly also with the brow gel. After, I use the lighter powder, with the fluffy side of the brush, to set the color.

After filling them in, I find they look much too harsh so I comb through them a bit with a spooley brush. This blends the color and decreases the intensity. I find this step is essential for me!

To keep the color and shape in place, I set my eyebrows with e.l.f.'s clear brow gel. It's only $1 and it keeps them in place all day long!

If I don't feel like filling my brows in and everything, I'll use Maybelline's brow drama. It's a tinted gel that sets them in place, and adds a bit of color. It's great to use when I'm in a rush.

I'm not very good at taking pictures of my eyes or eyebrows but here's a few pictures to show the basic shape.

I hope this was helpful and that pretty much sums up my current brow routine.

My spa night routine!

Every Sunday, I like to switch up my routine a bit and treat myself. On one or two Sundays of the month I go all out and do a complete spa night routine, when I need a pick-me-up. Keep in mind, some weeks I will just do one or two of these things, I only do the full thing every once in a while. I think it's great to have some me-time to pamper yourself, especially on Sundays to start your week out. Here's my full spa night routine!

I start in the shower with a body & face scrub. I received this Bath & Body Works Sugar Scrub as a Christmas gift and I'm already obsessed! It makes my skin feel so soft and it smells great! The Queen Helene face scrub is very gentle and a nice treat for my face!

I love doing hair masks once a week and the Aussie 3 minute miracle is my favorite! it makes my hair feel incredibly smooth & silky. I also like t add some hair oil like this one from Marc Anthony for some shine!

After my shower, I like to apply one of my many face masks. I choose based on my mood and skin condition at the time. As you can see I have a pretty tough decision to make!

Once my mask is rinsed off, I'll do my skincare routine. I start with the Lush Tea tree Water all over my face followed by my Nivea Night Cream. I moisturize my body with the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream and give my lips some love with their Ultra Repair Lip Therapy!

Lastly if I've got time, I'll paint my nails as well! I like to use the OPI Drip Dry drops to speed up the drying time, especially if I paint at night.

And that's my entire spa routine! Sometimes I switch it up a bit, but this is basically it.

My current morning & night routines!

My morning and night routines are actually quite simple but I thought I'd share them anyways. I think it's fun to see what other people to get ready and what not! I hope you enjoy!

First thing in the morning after I stumble to my desk, I'll apply some facial lotion and lip balm. Both are by Nivea and I love 'em both!

For makeup, it's pretty similar to my Face of the day post back in August! The only differences are that I add some of the Benefit Hello Flawless oxygen wow foundation and I don't use eyeliner!

And of course I can't forget deodorant! I'm loving Secret's Paris scent!

Fast forward to the evening! I shower at night since I hate blow-drying my hair.

I actually take my makeup off before I shower! And after I spray my Lush Tea Tree Water all over my face and apply more face cream.

Then I apply some lotion, usually just to my hands & feet since I'm lazy. And also some lip balm.

I then write in my Q&A journal and my daily journal. It's a great way to relax and reflect on the day. I also write down 3 things I'm thankful for each day and something I'm looking forward to to keep positive thoughts going!

By then I'm usually pretty tired, to I turn out the light and fall asleep!

That's it, Bye! :)

My Hair Care Routine! (Most used hair products)

Hey there!
Today I'm going to be showing you my hair care routine! My hair is fairly long and, I love keeping it healthy and strong. I usually try to avoid heat, but I do use it every now and then.
This may seem like A TON of products, but I honestly find myself using each one pretty much every week. Obviously I don't use heat protector if I don't use heat, and I always switch up my shampoo, but these are basically the products I currently reach for most often!
First off, my shower and post-shower related products!
Lately I've been using the TRESemmé Keratin Smooth shampoo and conditioner. I haven't had time to completely try out the shampoo but I've really been liking the conditioner.
After my shower, I use the RUSK cream detangler nearly every night! It gets out every tangle and I personally think it work way better than a spray. I often reach for the Marc Anthony oil of morocco when I'm looking for a soft hair result. I actually have a review on this which I did last year, check it out!
I'm not really sure what to call this category, but I thought the products kind of went together.
My absolute favorite hairspray it the L'OREAL Elnett Satin hairs[ray. I have the unscented version and it works amazing. Most hairsprays leave my hair crunchy and dry but this makes you feel like you aren't even wearing any! It is on the pricey side, but I think it would be worth it.
When I do find myself using heat, I protect my hair with the TRESemmé heat tamer spray.
And for split end control, I use Aussie anti-breakage spray which I picked up from a clearance rack at Walmart for only $1!
The last "category" is sort of a finishing product category. First, the cake dry shampoo powder. I'm still getting used to this since it stains my roots a bit, but I should have a more detailed review on the cake products in the future. I also use the cake dry shampoo spray, it works really well and adds a lot of volume. And finally, I am in love with the John Frieda frizz-ease finishing creme. A little goes a long way and eliminates all of your frizz!
That's pretty much my most used hair products! I hope it wasn't too long.
Bye!

Blogmas 2013: Day 17! My Skincare Routine

To be honest, I don't really know why I'm posting this today.
My skincare routine is the bare minimum. I wash my face, occasionally use a scrub, and moisturize, that's it! I found that after trying various acne treatments, creams and other miscellaneous face products, none of them did anything to help acne. If anything, they made it worse! I have very sensitive skin which may be the issue, I can't tell. I decided to cut down on product use and let my acne cure itself and it did! I definitely still have acne, but it isn't as bad as it used to be!
My skin is feeling softer than ever now, and I have brought the acne down to a minimum. When I do get the odd pimple or two, I try to resist popping it unless I have to. I keep all products off of it and wash my face twice a day (I usually just wash my face once a day).
First of all, I wash my face at night using the Clean & Clear Morning burst fruit infusions mandarin orange face wash (That's a mouthful). This is oil free and super gentle. It smells amazing and makes your skin felling extremely soft!
Every other day or two, I use the Queen Helene cocoa butter facial scrub. This scrub is natural, and very gentle on the skin. The exfoliating beads are very tiny and not abrasive, but it still feels nice. I prefer the Mint Julep kind but I decided to try this one out, I don't like the smell though!
I tried a few different day creams and this one is my favorite! I use this day and night although I'm thinking of trying out the same night cream. This is a super thick formula and give tons of hydration. It contains SPF15 which is great for all year!
That's pretty much my skincare routine, very basic!
Thanks, Bye!

Blogmas 2013: Day 12! Winter Makeup Routine

I've never done anything like this before, but I decided to try to do a makeup routine!
I'm definitely not the best at makeup, but I have a lot of fun with it! I usually go with a fairly natural look although it seems like a use a ton of products.
I defiantely don't do this everyday, just when I want a little extra oomph!
First for face, I use quite a few things to reach a flawless complexion. I start by applying the Maybelline Fit Me stick foundation all around my face focusing on problem areas. For my under-eyes, I use the covergirl fresh complexion concealer in a shade lighter than my skin-tone to help brighten my eyes. I use the Hard Candy Glamoflauge concealer on any blemishes or redness and I set it all with MAC select sheer pressed powder in NW20.
To give my face more dimension, I use the Nyx blush in peach, and Benefit's Watt's Up!
I prefer to skip bronzer in the winter.
I prime my eyes with ELF's eyelid primer under my eyeshadows. For eyeliner, I love Maybelline's eye studio gel liner. I have complete control over the line and it's perfect every time! To make myself appear more awake, especially on those days I sleep in, I use the Rimmel Scandal Eyes waterproof kohl kajal eyeliner in nude. It's way more natural and less harsh than a white eyeliner.
My favorite mascara of the moment is Maybelline's The Rocket. I recently repurchased this and fell in love once again!
For eyeshadow, I use this ELF palette with 32 shadows. I can't remember the name of it but I remember getting it on clearance for less than $5!
I use 1 as a brow-bone and inner corner highlight. I mix 2 & 3 over my entire eyelid with 4 & 5 in the crease! I fill my brows in with 6 which is extremely similar to MAC's omega eyeshadow.
Swatches of products mentioned
I set my brows with the ELF wet gloss lash and brow clear mascara, it keeps them in place all day long!
I've recently been wearing this Sally Hansen Colorfast tint+moisture balm a ton! It's in the shade in the pink and it's super neural for everyday wear. This smells amazing and is super moisturizing.
Well that's my makeup routine for winter! I hope you enjoyed!
Come back tomorrow for Blogmas day 13!
Bye! =)
