Flower Beauty BB Cream ~ Review

Flower Beauty recently made it's way to Canadian Walmart and I was so excited! I hadn't really gotten a chance to try anything out until my mom let me have this BB cream since it wasn't her shade. (BB1) I was super excited to try this out and I ended up really loving it!

First of all, the packaging in gorgeous! I love the sleekness and the rose gold accents. I'm definitely a sucker for cute packaging. It also makes it super easy to get the product out of the tube.

When I first used it I was shocked at the texture. It was super thick (even thicker than any foundation I'd ever used). I assumed it would be thinner like most BB creams. Since it is so thick, I find it easiest to apply with a wet sponge for a more even application. I found using a brush or my fingers only dragged the product around rather than blending it in.

Once I do get it all blended, the coverage is amazing! It covered every bit of redness and discoloration I have. Only my largest spots slightly peeked through. I would say this has better coverage than my $40 Benefit foundation!

The BB cream lasted a fair bit of time. Makeup never really lasts super long on my oily face but this held up fairly well. I'd say I got a good 4-5 hours of wear before it was noticeably wearing off.

This wasn't as moisturizing as most BB creams I've tried however it isn't drying either. It also doesn't contain SPF (That I know of) which is a major downside especially for the Summer.

Overall:

Coverage: 8.5/10
Lasting power: 8/10
Packaging: 10/10
Would I repurchase?: Quite possibly
Would I recommend?: Yes!
Overall: 8.5/10

I think this is great for wearing in the Winter. Maybe not so much in the summer due to lack of SPF.
If I were to wear this out in the sun I would definitely make sure to add some sunscreen underneath.
Hope this review was helpful, enjoy your day!

Smashbox Try it Kit ~ Review

I've still got a ton of Christmas reviews coming! I've been wanting to make sure to completely try everything out so that I'm sure with my opinions. I've been trying the Smashbox Try it Kit for a while now and I'm finally ready to review it! I received this for Christmas last December and I've been using it ever since. It's a little gift set with 5 different Smashbox best sellers sample products.

First off, the photo finish lid primer. This isn't my favorite eye primer, but it worked fairly well! It's slightly colored and yellow toned so it cancels out any discoloration. It's a little bit thick but it blends out nicely. After a few hours of wear, the eyeshadows I had put on still looked the same. By the end of the day, the shadows hadn't creased however they were slightly less vibrant. Overall I'd say this primer did a pretty good job of keeping my eyeshadow on and I'd give it an 8/10.

I absolutely loved the photo finish foundation primer. I never really used face primer before this and I always had issues with my makeup wearing off. A little goes a long way with this products. It feels like a silicon formula and is makes my skin so smoothly. After a fee hours my foundation still looked great and by the end of the day, I had slight wear under my eyes and around my nose. That's way better than my normal wear all over my face. I would definitely consider repurchasing this. Overall I'd give it a 9/10!

I'd never even heard of their limitless eye liner. I was pleasantly surprised with this. I don't really ear eyeliner all that often but I really didn't mind trying this out. It lasted really well on my tightline which is rare for me! I also tried it out by lining my eyes normally and it smudged and faded slightly but it wasn't too noticeable. I'd give this liner a 7.5/10

The kit also came with a mini lip gloss in the shade Illume. I was surprised that I liked this since I'm not usually drawn to shimmery lip glosses. This gloss adds a great highlight to the center of a solid lip shade. it didn't last too long but not many glosses ever do on me. In the end, I'd give this gloss an 8/10.

Lastly, like most sets, this set came with a mascara. I've tried a Smashbox mascara before and didn't mind it. This mascara doesn't give a ton of volume however it is easy to apply and it's buildable. the main thing I noticed about this mascara was that it added length. I don't think I'd repurchase this mascara but I will definitely continue to use it up! Overall, I'd give this a 7/10.

I really did enjoy this kit! It's great if you're looking to try some Smashbox products. I'm not sure if they sell this anymore since I checked the Sephora website and the kit seems to have been changed up a bit!. I still have seen this version of the kit in stores so grab it if you still can!

Blogmas 2014: Day 21 ~ Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation Review

I've had this foundation for quite some time now, but I've been waiting to review it since I wanted to share my full opinion! I've been using it for long enough to know my full thoughts on it and I'm so happy to finally be reviewing it! I got this with my Sephora gift card from my Birthday since I was wanting to try a high-end foundation. I had someone in Sephora recommend this for me so I trusted them and got it! I hope you enjoy this review and I cannot believe Christmas is less than 4 days!

I bought this at Sephora for $44, which is pricey for foundation however cheaper than many other high-end foundations. It came with a small sample of Benefit's Stay Flawless Primer, which I only used a couple of times. It seemed to work fine for me.

When I tried this on in the store, it felt slightly heavy on my skin but the feeling didn't last. The sales person said it was good for my skin type (oily/combo) and my concerns (long-wearing, not shiny etc). It seemed to match me alright in the store, and I had previously heard positive comments on it so I decided to go for it.

When I got it home, I noticed it was darker than the rest of my foundations, but I decided to keep it anyways. I wore it for a while, usually applying it with a brush or beauty sponge. I found it took quite a bit of foundation to cover my whole face (around 1-2 pumps). Without powder, it left me looking quite shiny and it was a tiny bit darker than my skin. After powder my skin looked pretty good. It covered my redness but not much else. My acne still showed through even after multiple layers.

It's a fairly thin and liquid-y consistency. I've started using it a lot more often recently and I'm still not loving it. It doesn't really cover everything I want it to, and it doesn't last as long as I'd hoped either. After about 3/4 hours of application, I notice my redness coming back and my skin looking shiny again. It is a bit dark for me although it's not too noticeable.

I really wasn't that pleased with this foundation, and I kind of regret buying it. It's just nothing special. I much prefer my Covergirl 3 in 1 foundation which is only $10 compared to $44!
Even the lightest shade, which is ivory, was a tad too dark. There is not much shade selection with only 7 shades.

 PROS:
 Blendable
 Even coverage

CONS:
Shade selection
Not long lasting
Light coverage
Uses a lot of product each application
 Shiny

 OVERALL:
Blendability: 9/10
Lasting Power: 7/10
Price: 5/10
Coverage: 7/10
Would I repurchase?: No
Would I recommend?: Not unless you're looking for light coverage
Overall: 7/10

In the end, I was quite disappointed with this foundation and expected more from it. I've heard many good things about this so maybe it was just me personally!

High End pick-ups

I recently picked up a couple of high end items for the upcoming season change and though I would share them with you! As you can probably tell, I don't buy high end very often but I actually didn't pay a dime for these 2 items! I used a gift card that I received as a birthday gift to buy the foundation, and for the mascara, I redeemed the free full sized mascara coupon from the Eye Studio Sampler I got as a gift, last Christmas. I am very thankful to now own 2 beautiful high end products. I'm not trying to brag, I just simply thought it would be a fun post to share!
xx

I got the Benefit Stay Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation from Sephora. I was looking around the store and was a little overwhelmed and lost to be honest. I asked for some help and the guy working there was very kind and tested this foundation on me. I really liked it and decided to go for it. He also gave me a sample of it in case I changed my mind! It even came with a sample of their Stay Flawless primer which I can't wait to try!

Out of all of the products I tried in the Eye Studio Sampler kit, the Lancome Hypnôse Drama mascara was my fave! I stopped by Shopper's Drug Mart and picked it up with my coupon. I can't wait to start using it again!

I got the blackest mascara and the lightest foundation, haha!

I also got a Sephora foundation sample, but the shade is (sadly) WAY too dark for me.

That's it! I cannot wait to review these products after I use them for a little longer! Feel free to comment some post ideas you'd like to see. I hope you all have an amazing day! :)

The next thing is the Maybelline Fit Me concealer. This is one of my new found loves and it works great under the eyes. It brightens your under-eyes and blends really easily.

3: BENEFIT WATT'S UP HIGHLIGHTER
I do only have a sample of this, but I still really love the product. It's the perfect shimmery champagne color which adds a gorgeous glow to your face.

The NYX blush in peach is such a universal shade that goes with nearly any makeup look.  It's a bright pink color and it adds a natural-looking flush

Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation Review! (100th Post!)

Hello Everyone!
Today is actually my 100th post! I can't believe I've already posted 100 blog posts. I've had my blog for nearly 1 year and I love posting on it! I'm very excited to write my 100th post, so here it is!

As the title says, I'm going to be doing a review of the Covergirl 3 in 1 foundation. I picked this up recently as I had heard great things about it and I already love it!
I really love the packaging of this! It contains an average 1 oz. and I really like the shape of the bottle. It has a pump, which makes it super easy to dispense. I use 1 pump when applying with my fingers, and 2 when using a sponge. This foundation is extremely blendable. My favorite way to apply it is with a damp beauty sponge, this gives the most natural-looking application. It sets to a non-shiny finish but it's also not matte, leaving it looking natural on the skin. I usually like to apply powder, and set it with MAC fix+ for a dewy finish & lasting power.
I really like the fact that this contains and SPF of 20, it's great for the sunnier months.
The coverage is medium to full. It covers all discoloration & redness as well as blurs any acne. As I said, it looks really natural on the skin and it doesn't appear cakey. It also lasts a fairly long time. Most foundations don't look great on me at the end of the day but this one holds up pretty well.
I'm in the lightest shade (ivory) and I find that it matches me perfectly! It does oxidize a little bit but nothing too dramatic.
Overall, this is actually my new favorite foundation! I don't have anything negative to say about this apart from the price. It retails for $13 at most drugstores in Canada, but I often see coupons for Covergirl.
That finishes my review for today. I hope you anjoyed my 100th post and I can't wait to do more!
Bye!
