Maybelline Lash Sensational ~ Review

I am more than excited to review this mascara because it has created a new level of lash perfection. A friend of mine recommended this to me after saying it was ever better than the Benefit Roller Lash mascara, which I have never tried. It was only $6 at Walmart! I usually really like Maybelline mascaras and this one tops them all.

I love the color of the packaging, it's the same as Too Faced's Better Than Sex mascara.

It claims to have full fan effect volume and it definitely does!

The brush has very tiny, plastic bristles. It's similar to the Rocket however this brush is curved. One layer of this mascara gives a nice coat of length and volume. Two layers takes you from day wear to full on GLAM, I love it! It's not too difficult to remove but it takes a pretty much a full face wipe. It separates the lashes so nicely and doesn't clump a bit! It also lasts all day without one single flake!

RATINGS

Packaging: 9/10
Volume: 10/10
Length: 10/10
Lasting power/wear: 9/10
Price: 9/10
Would I repurchase?: YES!
Would I recommend?: If you like what you see down below.
Overall: 9.5/10 (I must really love it!)

Prepare yourself for many eye photos!

My hair decided to photo bomb this one but I still liked it.

This mascara is one of my new top faves! It gives a TON of volume and length without clumps or making me look like I have 4, maybe 5 eyelashes. This is the best I've ever seen my eyelashes look.
Have you tried this?

Maybelline Mega Plush Mascara

I usually really like Maybelline mascaras, and I had heard positive thing about this one in the past so I thought I'd give it a go while searching for a new mascara. It was fairly popular a year or two ago but I haven't heard much about it recently. It claims to give good volume which gave me even more reason to try it out!

Of course, I had to choose the darkest shade!

The brush is quite large and bulky. After the first coat, I noticed my lashes looked very natural and had little volume. This takes quite a few coats to build up volume and even after that, it isn't super dramatic. it gives a nice look to your lashes, but I wouldn't say it a adds a ton of volume.
This just didn't give me the look I desired for my lashes. It wasn't a bad mascara, just not for me!

RATINGS

Volume: 7/10
Price: 9/10
Length: 8/10
Lasting power: 8/10
Removal: 8/10
Would I repurchase?: No
Would I recommend?: If it seems like your type of mascara
Overall: 8/10

In the end, this wasn't a favorite of mine and I wouldn't go back to it.

Maybelline The Falsies Flared ~ Review

I have been meaning to review this for quite some time now. I've always heard good things about this mascara, however whenever I buy mascara, it always slips my mind. One of my friends gave this to me for Christmas and I was so excited to finally try it and I'm so glad I did. I believe this mascara is only around $6 at the drugstore, so it's very affordable.

I can definitely see this becoming my new favorite mascara. I can honestly say I love it as much as Lancome's Hypnose Drama which I love to death! I'm not very willing to shell out $30 for a mascara that will maybe last me 3 months so finding a great drugstore mascara is a steal!

As you can see, the brush is slightly curved, making it easy to apply the mascara to all of the lashes. With one coat, I noticed lots of length, separation and slight volume. Two coats definitely pumped up the volume a ton and with three coats, my lashes were super dramatic. For everyday wear, I usually go for two coats. I prefer to wiggle the brush through my lashes to prevent clumping and promote separation. This mascara also wears really well. When I apply in the morning, it looks great. By the end of the day it's not perfect, but it's close. It never smudged on me but most mascaras don't. The mascara is slightly difficult to remove, but not too much of a struggle. I've tried mascara harder to remove.

Okay, I have a lot to say about this photo. First of all, I'm not 100% sure I'm wearing the Falsies mascara in this photo. Since I forgot to take a photo of my lashes for this post, I went back to see if I had any. I take a ton of photos but this was the one that looks most similar to my lashes in the Falsies. Second, this was before I got my brows waxed, hence the cropping. Third, my eyes look kind of weird. The photo is on an angle making it look messed up. I so wish I had gotten a photo of my lashes! Anyways, this is what my lashes usually look like in this mascara.

OVERALL:

Price: 9/10
Volume: 9/10
Length: 9/10
Wear: 9/10
Removal: 7/10
Would I repurchase?: YES
Would I recommend?: For sure!
Overall: 9/10

See you next time!

High End pick-ups

I recently picked up a couple of high end items for the upcoming season change and though I would share them with you! As you can probably tell, I don't buy high end very often but I actually didn't pay a dime for these 2 items! I used a gift card that I received as a birthday gift to buy the foundation, and for the mascara, I redeemed the free full sized mascara coupon from the Eye Studio Sampler I got as a gift, last Christmas. I am very thankful to now own 2 beautiful high end products. I'm not trying to brag, I just simply thought it would be a fun post to share!
xx

I got the Benefit Stay Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation from Sephora. I was looking around the store and was a little overwhelmed and lost to be honest. I asked for some help and the guy working there was very kind and tested this foundation on me. I really liked it and decided to go for it. He also gave me a sample of it in case I changed my mind! It even came with a sample of their Stay Flawless primer which I can't wait to try!

Out of all of the products I tried in the Eye Studio Sampler kit, the Lancome Hypnôse Drama mascara was my fave! I stopped by Shopper's Drug Mart and picked it up with my coupon. I can't wait to start using it again!

I got the blackest mascara and the lightest foundation, haha!

I also got a Sephora foundation sample, but the shade is (sadly) WAY too dark for me.

That's it! I cannot wait to review these products after I use them for a little longer! Feel free to comment some post ideas you'd like to see. I hope you all have an amazing day! :)

L'Oreal Miss Manga Mascara

Hello there! I've been using this new mascara for a while now and I thought it would have grown on me by now. I was surprised that I didn't really enjoy it as all of the reviews I have read have been positive. Anyways I've tried it out and I thought I'd do a review myself!

The packaging is definitely on point! It's super fun, bright and eye catching. I love the idea of the product!

The brush has bristles of different length and is tapered. There is a joint on the want that allows for flexibility, giving a bit of a bounce when applied. It's a very unique brush and it's fairly easy to use.

It seemed to clump my lashes together, making it appear as if I only had 5 lashes. I could tell it was meant to give voluminous, flared lashes but it kind of failed to do that for me. It added length and a bit of volume, but I noticed myself brushing through my lashes with a clean lash comb to try to separate my lashes. After the whole process my lashes would look decent. I like when you can apply mascara and go!

Price: 7/10 ($9)
Volume: 6/10
Length: 8/10
Lasting power: 10/10 I didn't notice and flaking or smudging
Would I repurchase?: Probably not
Would I recommend?: nah

I hope this was helpful! Let me know your experience with this mascara!

7 steps to stellar lashes!

Lashes can make or break your entire look and they're one of my favorite parts of my makeup! I love voluminous, black lashes without clumping or looking spidery. I've played around with numerous mascaras and techniques and have found the way that works best for me. These tips may not be perfect for everyone, but I thought I'd share them since I use them almost daily!
Here are my 7 steps to stellar lashes! :)

1. Look down onto a mirror as you apply mascara. I use this tip everyday and my lashes don't turn out the same without it! Place a pocket mirror on your desk and look down.

2. Wiggle to brush from the base of your lashes up, to help prevent clumps. I always find myself wiggling the mascara wand when applying mascara as it applies a more even layer and gives less clumps.

3. Apply waterproof mascara over regular to set and make removal easier. If there's a chance I'll been in the water or sweating a lot, I'll do a quick coat of waterproof over top of my regular mascara to prevent smudging. It's also easier to remove than waterproof mascara alone.

4. Wipe excess mascara of on side of tube. When pulling out the wand, wipe of the excess from the tip of the wand. It prevent you from getting mascara everywhere.

5. Combine lengthening and voluminizing mascaras to create a flawless combo. I like applying both a voluminizing and a lengthening mascara to give the best of both worlds!

6. Use a clean mascara wand to remove clumps. Wiggle a clean wand through you lashes to separate and remove clumps.

7. Use the blackest mascara for a dramatic look. Using the blackest black will give you lashes a bold and dramatic look rather than using a dark greyish black or brown.

Those are all of my lash tips, Hope you enjoyed!

Eye Studio Sampler ~ Review!

Wow! This review has been long awaited for me! I received this sampler kit as a Christmas gift and I have been testing out the products and using them ever since. I decided it would be more practical if I spread out the use of the mascaras instead of using them all at once. I am currently still using them, but I have tried each one out and created my opinion. I hope you enjoy this review, I can't wait!

This set is from Shopper Drugmart, which is a Canadian drugstore, and I'm not sure the retail price. I believe it's not available anymore as it came out around Christmas time, so sorry about that!

The set contains 6 sample-sized mascaras as well as a sample-sized eye makeup remover. The set also comes with a coupon to redeem your favorite product from the kit for free! So basically you're paying for the 7 samples plus 1 full-sized product.
All of the products are high-end brands, too!

Starting with the Lancome Hypnose Drama mascara! I had heard many great things about this, and I had great exceptions so I saved it for last. This is the mascara I've been using most recently.
It's hard to tell in the photo, but the wand is kind of an "S" shape. This mascara is slightly clumpy but nothing too unusual. I really like this one because it was really dramatic ad gave lots of volume. It's not dry, it's actually quite wet which I enjoy. It gives really full, black lashes which is my priority!

The photos aren't the best representation of how it truly looks, but I wanted to add them anyways for a visual.

Next, Smashbox Photo Op Eye Brightening mascara. The brush is very simple and I like it. It has a fairly regular consistency and it looks very natural. There's not much volume or drama but it does hold a curl and gives some length. It makes my eyes appear wider which I suppose is the eye brightening affect. It doesn't dry stiffly which is good!

This was my least favorite of them all, and I was really disappointed. The wand is very basic and nothing special. It has a very strong scent which isn't very appealing and it's a little bit difficult to remove. It slightly clumps and the formula is dry. In the end it gives a very natural look and it's nothing special to me.

The wand of Benefit's Bad Gal is huge! The formula is fairly dry as well, but it's build able. It's not a super dramatic mascara but it makes your lashes appear fuller. It gives a bit of length and volume but nothing too extravagant.

My second favorite of them all, was Clarins Wonder Perfect. The wand was the perfect shape and the formula wasn't dry! This was the first one I tried and at first it didn't do much, but after letting it sit for a week or too, it started to work great! It separates really well and doesn't leave any clumps and it's also slightly build able. It's not super dramatic, but it's quite black and easy to control. It's also easy to remove which is a plus!

Next up, Shiseido's Perfect Mascara Full Definition. As you can see in the photo above, I think this mascara has little fibers in it that cling onto your lashes and add length and volume. I think that is a really unique aspect of this products. The wand is a slight hourglass shape which contributes towards lash separation. The formula is slightly dramatic while also build able. This was another one of my favorites!

Last up is the Bourjois Paris Eye Makeup Remover. It says non-oily, but it feels very oily to me. It melts makeup and removes most of it fairly well. I still do find traces of mascara and eyeliner. It stings a bit if I accidentally get it in my eye. I'm not used to using liquid makeup remover, as a don't use it often, but I don't really love this one.

OVERALL:
Removing: 8/10
Oiliness (10 super oily, 1 not oily at all): 8/10
Stinging: 6/10
Any left over residue: A little bit
Would I repurchase?: nah
Would I recommend?: probably not
Overall: 7/10

In the end, I will probably end up choosing Lancome's Hypnose Drama mascara when all of the samples come to an end!

That is it! I hope you enjoyed this review, and thank you to everyone and those who read till the end!
Bye :)
