Too Faced Christmas in New York: The Chocolate Shop

Okay... so I know I haven't posted in nearly 2 years! But today I just had a huge urge to make a post on this Too Faced gift set that I received for Christmas. This set is way too pretty to not take photos of. The pink packaging and New York theme of Too Faced's 2016 Christmas collection is too die for.

I love all of the detail in the packaging.

The set comes with an eye primer, a mascara, a liquid lipstick and a palette with 21 eye shadows, a highlighter, bronzer, and a blush!

The Better Than Sex mascara is my absolute favorite and I have been wanting to try the melted lipstick for a while! Plus I am always needing eye primer.

18 of the eye shadows are 0.03 oz. and 3 are 0.07 oz. There is an amazing variety of shade, many which are perfect for the holiday and many are perfect for everyday. Each shadow has a unique holiday themed name. The blush is the most unique shade of blush I've ever seen! I forgot to mention the entire palette as well as the liquid lipstick have a decadent chocolate scent.

From left to right: Sugared Raisin, Huckleberry, Jingle Berry, Banana Date, Butterscotch, Gingerdoodle (I think..!), then the Innerlight luminizer, and the Chocolate Covered Strawberry blush.
The pigmentation varies between the shadows and for the most part they have a fair pigmentation. They aren't as pigmented as I hoped but I assume using a primer would boost the color payoff.

The lipstick isn't matte (I love matte) but I actually do not mine the slight gloss. The color is a bit too orange-based for me but I will continue to give it a go.

Subtle St. Patrick's

I thought it would be fun to do a super simple St. Patrick's day post. It's one of the lesser holidays that isn't super exciting so I thought I'd share a few ways to subtly add green to your look. These ideas are great for an effortless look. So if you're looking for a way to add a subtle hint of green to your look, keep on reading!

Green Accessories

These pale green, heart-shaped studs from Call it Spring are the perfect, simple accessory to a plain outfit.

This bright green bracelet by Lia Sophia is a bold yet subtle statement piece.

If you're looking to add only the super slightest touch of green to your outfit, go for a piece of jewelry with a tiny hint of green. Floral pieces, like this necklace from Target, often have small hints of green.

Green Makeup

Green makeup can seem super intimidating but it doesn't have to be! Try a metallic olive liner like this one by Annabelle. Smudging it above your lash line can draw attention to your eyes while also incorporating a bit of green.

You can also try the same shade in an eyeshadow. This olive shadow by Tarte looks great lightly blending into the crease or smudged on the lower lash line.

Tops

This floral tank (from Winners) effortlessly incorporates green. Add a chunky cardi, some black pants and you're set!

The subtle shade of green in this (American Eagle) baseball tee goes perfect for a casual look. Throw on some jeans, sneakers and head out.

This cozy sweater from Urban Outfitters has thin stripes of mint green throughout it. It's perfect for a cooler climate.

If you're looking to go super simple, try a black tank (Winners) with a green accessory or 2!

Bottoms

These cropped leggings from Lululemon have subtle mint green stripes at the bottom. By wearing a bit of green in your pants, it draws even less atention.

Those are all of my ideas for an effortlessly green St. Patrick's day! Enjoy :)

Weekend Project #4 DIY Heart canvas

I wasn't really planning on doing a Valentine's Day themed post this year. I didn't really want to do food again, since I did that last year. However, I stumbled upon this DIY canvas on Pinterest and knew I had to make it! This isn't only perfect for Valentine's Day, you could have it up year round. It's so simple and fun to make!

Materials:

Canvas of choice size
Various sized branches
Paint brushes
Paint of choice
Hot glue gun & glue

1. Paint your canvas your color of choice! I chose this pale pink paint by craft smart.

2. Cut your twigs according to the shape. I did a heart, but you could really do any shape!

3. When the canvas is completely dry, glue down the twigs in your desired shape with the hot glue.

5. Let it dry and you're done!

6. I chose to paint the edges as well, as I find it looks a bit cleaner.

I love the 3D look of this canvas!

Alright, That's about it. I hope you try this out & let me know if you do! :)

Blogmas 2014: Day 27 ~ Boxing Day Haul

I always look forward to Boxing day shopping. It's like Canada's Black Friday! I enjoy finding some great deals and It's just another excuse to go shopping. I usually don't get too much since Christmas is the day before. This year was a really great year for me! I didn't find many great deals but the ones I found were great for me! If you'd like, you can check out my haul from last year. I did all the math for the values of the products very quickly so I hope they're correct! Also, I realize I'm extending Blogmas a bit but it's just an excuse for me to post more!
ENJOY

Bath & Body Works had an amazing sale going on, however I have a ton of BBW stuff already so I just picked up a few hand sanitizers. I found these hand sanitizers in a small bin for 90% off! The scents aren't even too Christmas-y! So these turned out to be $0.20 each for a total of 80 cents!

Worth $2.00 each ($8.00 for all 4)

Sephora was the store I was most looking forward to! All of the great deals I found last year excited me. There weren't too many of the $10, $12, $13 items that caught my eye this year. I picked out 4 items to give as gifts throughout the year. They're great to have on hand for birthdays and such! I picked up the bareMinerals crowd pleasers set for $12. I got one of those for myself as well. I also got the Smashbox bestsellers kit for $13, the Buxom Dealer's Choice set for $13, and the Too Faced Better Than Sex Amazing Eyes Set for $13. These were great deals since some of the products are full sized and some and very generous sample sizes!

Blogmas 2014: Day 26 ~ What I got for Christmas!

I hope everyone had an absolutely amazing Christmas & Holiday season! I'm sad to see it pass, however I really enjoyed it while it lasted. Today I'm going to be doing my 2nd "What I got for Christmas" post. Here's last year's post! I understand these posts can be very controversial so I thought I'd give some disclaimers. I know everyone says this, but I am honestly not trying to brag in anyway. I do these posts so I can look back on them and relieve happy memories. I am also extremely thankful for everything I received as well as all of my amazing family and friends! I had an absolutely amazing Christmas and wouldn't change anything about it! Christmas isn't just about gifts, it's about spending time with people you care about. So if this just isn't your type of post, feel free to not read :) Anyways, after all of that, enjoy!
