Blogmas 2014: Day 11 ~ e.l.f. cream eyeliner review

December is just flying by and I still need to get a ton of Christmas shopping in! Speaking of Christmas shopping, this liner would make a great gift now that I think of it. Anyways, I'm going to be reviewing e.l.f.'s studio cream eyeliner. It's only $3 at Target!

I got it a while back in the shade coffee since I don't have a brown liner that I really like. I didn't expect much from this but I ended up being quite surprised.

It comes with a small brush which I don't find myself using due to it's size. It does seem useful for travel however.

The packaging is nice and sleek and looks very professional, as expected from the e.l.f. studio line.

The liner is quite creamy and if you don't get enough on your brush, it can look quite sheer. However if you do apply enough, the outcome is a sleek, opaque line. This is great when I want my liner to look a bit more natural or less harsh.

After a few hours of wear, I definitely noticed a bit of fading but it never smudged or smeared on my. I did wish it lasted longer but for $3 I can't complain.

OVERALL:

Lasting Power: 7/10
Packaging: 8/10
Color payoff: 7/10
Price: 9/10
Would I repurchase?: Possibly
Would I recommend?: Yes if you're looking for an inexpensive liner
Overall: 7.5/10

That's all, enjoy your Thursday!

Product of the week~e.l.f. Wet Gloss Lash & Brow Clear Mascara

It's been a long time since my last "Product of the week" post so I thought it was time to bring it back! This week I've been obsessed with brows! I tweezed them and the shape was working well for me. So this week's product was e.l.f.'s Wet Gloss Lash & Brow Clear Mascara.

I just use both sides as brow gel since I never use clear mascara. The brushes are shaped slightly different. This products is only $1 and great quality for the price. It don't make your brows too stiff, but it hold the shape and color all day long.

This is one of my must-have brow products and I will continue to repurchase it!

Let me know if you use this and what your thoughts are!
Bye :)

E.L.F. Under Eye Concealer & Highlighter ~ Review

I've been looking for a good highlighter for under my eyes to brighten them up. I've found the perfect under-eye concealer for me, but it doesn't do much brightening up. I decided to try this to see if it was any good.

There are two ends: a concealer, and a highlighter.

The concealer didn't cover much on me. It kind of actually caked up a bit and stayed on top of the skin. It was very thin and fairly blendable.

The wand it pink but the product is white. The highlight is very sheer and doesn't do much. I can hardly notice I've even put it on. Again, it was thin and fairly blendable but it kind of just blended away. Not a huge fan of this either.

Top: Before
Middle: Application
Bottom: After

As you can tell from the top photo to the bottom, it doesn't change much. The dark patches are still there, and it adds a bit of flaky-ness.

Price: $3 8/10
Blendability: 8/10
Coverage: 3/10
Highlight: 3/10
Lasting power: 5/10
Packaging: Lids are loose, 5/10
Overall:  5/10

I wouldn't repurchase this or recommend. It's too bad this didn't work for me, but oh well, it was only $3!
That's all, bye!

Elf eyebrow kit ~ medium

As you may have noticed, I've been playing around with my blog layout and design and such. I felt it was time for a change while I had the time. I really like it at the moment but I'm not 100% sure if it will be permanent. Let me know if you like it! Anyways, today I'm reviewing the Elf Eyebrow Kit. I have wanted to try this for the longest time and I finally got the chance. I actually ended up ordering it online from a site that sold elf, but they ran out so I cancelled my order. I picked it up at Target for only $3!

I really like the packaging of compacts in Elf's studio line. They're very sleek, thin and simple.

The photo below shows the true color better than the photo above. On the left there is a darker, tinted gel and on the right, is a lighter powder to set. I take the gel and lightly go through the sparse areas of my brows then set it all with a bit of the powder. I've really been loving it and using it daily!

You can create bold and dramatic looks with this or light and natural. It's fun to play around with and it makes it really easy to shape your brows. It lasts fairly well and even better with a brow gel.

I've got the shade medium, and I kinda just guessed. It turned out to match perfectly since the gel isn't as dark as I expected!

It also comes with a brush which I've actually put to use. It's difficult to use because of the size but it's actually not half bad.

Price: 10/10 super affordable!
Color payoff: 9/10
Color selection: 8/10 there's only 4 colors but they all seem fairly versatile
Lasting power: 8/10
Blendability: 9/10
Packaging: 10/10
Would I repurchase?: Yes!
Would I recommend?: Definitely
Overall: 9/10 great product!

If you see this I would suggest trying it out! What's there to lose?
I hope you enjoyed this review, thanks!

Elf at Canadian Targets?

I was wandering around Target the other day and I noticed a new display of makeup. I got closer and realized that it was elf! I always stock up on elf products when I'm in the US because it's super difficult to find much in Canada. The display I saw only had their studio line and not the essential or mineral line. My favorite is the essential line but this is better than nothing! Sorry for the photo quality, I was using my phone. I'm not sure if all Targets have started selling elf, but I sure am glad I found one that does!

The prices are a bit more than in the US. Products that are $3 in the US are $4 and some of their $6 are $8 here.
Let me know if you've seen elf products at your Canadian Targets!

Elf daily brush cleanser

I've actually repurchased the elf daily brush cleanser product a few times. It's only $3 and it's a super useful product to keep on hand. I don't use it every day but I do use it to spot clean my brushes in between washes. It's almost like dry shampoo for your makeup brushes! I found it at Target and for the price, it's pretty harmless to repurchase.

It works fairly well, removing and color or residue for the brushes. It works great when using bright colors, so you can clean you brush and use another shade. I would definitely recommend and repurchase and overall I'd give it a 9/10. I personally find it to be a great, unique, drugstore product that can save the day when you too lazy to deep clean your brushes!

That's it! Thanks for reading and have an amazing day & weekend!

Blogmas 2013: Day 8! ELF Holiday Palette Review

ELF has come out with the cutest holiday collection! The packaging is so gorgeous it doesn't even need to be wrapped! I only picked up one thing from the line and I recently featured it in a haul.
The great thing about ELF is that it's super affordable and the quality is definately there.
I'm showing you this because I think it would make a great gift for a friend or even yourself.
It costs only $3 for a 6 shadow compact! The gold glittery packaging caught my attention and led to my purchase. This would be such a cute gift or stocking stuffer for anyone who likes makeup.
The packaging of the compact is white with gold lettering and it's the same size as the normal ELF 6 piece compacts. All colors are neutral and fairly shimmery.
It's in the shade natural and I'm not sure if there are more shade options.
The colors are all well pigmented although they aren't outstanding. There are 3 darker browns, a gold, a copper tone, and a shimmery white. I love sweeping to gold over the lid with a medium dark brown in the crease and the white in the inner corner. There are so many looks that can be made with this palette.
That's all for today!
Bye!

Blogmas 2013: Day 3! e.l.f. Contouring Blush and Bronzer

I wanted to do a review on the e.l.f. Contouring Blush and bronzer Powder becuase I've been trying it out for a while and I have mixed thoughts on it.
First of all I'm in love the the packaging. It's so sleek and it looks like something that came out of Sephora!
It retails for only $3! Gotta love e.l.f. prices!
There's two pretty full sized sides. One is a blush and the other is a bronzer.
I have the shade St. Lucia which included a coral pink blush and light-medium brown bronzer.
Both shades are extremely shimmery which makes it very difficult to contour with. I prefer to use the bronzer to give my face a glow. I use a little bit of blush on the apples of my cheeks to give my face some color.
The colors are fairly pigmented I just swatched them very lightly. As you can see with the bronzer swatch it goes on pretty heavy. If you blend it out it looks great and it definitely adds A LOT of color to your face so make sure to tap off your brush before.
A great quality of this product is that it's long-lasting.
Packaging: 10/10
Application: 8/10
Lasting power: 8/10
Color pay-off: 10/10
Overall: 9/10
There's three other shades of this product, and I wish there were more. I believe all of them are fairly shimmery.
I featured this in a haul a few posts back, see it here.
That's all for today! See you tomorrow =)

Elf Haul!

Hello everyone! Today I'm bringing you an elf haul! I picked up quite a few elf products while I had the chance and I'm really excited to try them out.

First of all, I got 7 products from the essentials line, which each cost $1.
I've been in need of an eyelid primer for quite some time, and I've heard great things about this one so I gave it a try. I also got a black eyeliner,  clear mascara and brow gel and a shimmering facial whip. I got a pair of false lashes because I've actually never tried any. I'm really excited to try them out and it's great that they come with glue! I picked up a new eyelash curler and a blending brush to try out.

These next 2 products are also from the essentials line, but these were $2 each. I got a jumbo eyeshadow stick in "Rock Out" (it was the last one!) and I was so happy to see that it twists up (much easier than sharpening). Also, I got a flawless eyeshadow quad in "Happy Hour".

I picked up 1 thing from the holiday gift sets and it's the 6 piece eyeshadow compact. The colors are super pretty and so is the packaging. It only cost $3!

And finally I picked up a few pieces from their studio line.
I got a backup of the daily brush cleanser, because I like to spot-clean my brushes daily. Speaking of brushes I got a small stippling brush which is perfect for blending concealer. Next I got 2 cheek products. The first is just a blush. there wasn't much shade selection so I went with "Tickled Pink".
I also got the contouring blush and bronzer kit. At the time, I had no idea there were different shades so I just picked a random one and ended up with "St. Lucia". I probably would have chosen "Antigua" now that I've looked on the website, but "St. Lucia" is pretty too!

That's all I got!
I will most likely end up doing in-depth review of some of these products. Let me know which ones you'd like to see, Bye!

Disclaimer:
I apologize for the quality of these photos. I'm trying to figure the perfect lighting and background for my blog. Also the resolution got messed up during transferring.
