Colourpop Haul & First Impressions

Hello! I have been missing this blog so much lately so I am really excited to be posting this. I can't say I'll be back and posting as often as I used to but I'd definitely like to start posting a little more often if I can find the time. Anyways, I recently ordered from Colourpop after they released their new pressed powder eyeshadows! There were a few shades I was really wanting and I have always had the urge to try their matte liquid lipsticks so I went ahead and made an order. The order took about 5 days to ship and after it shipped it came 1 week later. For the most part the shipping was pretty standard and good except for the fact that the highlighter and one of the eyeshadows I ordered came broken :( I contacted Colourpop and they offered a coupon code for the value of the two products which was great. This could be a pretty lengthy post since I like to add lots of pics so get comfy :)

First of all, I love all of their packaging. The attention to detail is amazing!

I decided to pick up 3 of their new shadows in the shades Bel Air, Come and get it, and Goody Two-shoes. Not gonna lie, I mainly bought Bel Air because of the name but it turned out to be a gorgeous crease/transition shade.

I used Bel Air and Come and get it in my look today and I loved them both. Bel Air is the perfect crease shade and it blends so nicely. Come and get it has great pigmentation and is a great pop of color on the lid.

I also got two Super Shock eyeshadows in I heart this and Bill and sadly I heart this came super broken. I tried to swatch it and it's pretty hard to pick up any product in its condition which is super sad because it looks like a beautiful shade.

The texture of these is super interesting, it almost feels like a cream when I dip my finger in and it's pretty spongy. However when I swatch it, it comes off as a powder. Haven't tried these out on the eyes yet so I'll have to see how they are.

The Super Shock highlighter in Wisp looks so beautiful in swatches I saw online and it really is a beautiful color. The texture is the same as the Super Shock eyeshadows. I found it a little harder to get onto my brush than a normal powder highlighter; however once I got it on its a beautiful, pigmented highlight.

Not sure what happened with this one, it looks like it shrunk and shriveled up! I'm wondering if there is something different about the Super Shock metallic formula since both powders that came damaged were metallic shades and the matte shade was fine. I also think it could be caused by temperature change? Who knows.

This is the first cream contour I've ever tried so I can't compare it to much. But I did like it! It blended very easily and gave me a nice subtle, but apparent contour. I did go over it with some bronzer and it looked great! I think I picked the perfect shade (Dove) for my super fair complexion.

Here's my fave part! I've had a huge obsession with liquid matte lipsticks lately and I had to get more. I got the shades Midi and Vice as well as another set of 5 lip products. I was hoping to find the perfect everyday nude but I don't think any of these are that. However I really love these shades and can see myself wearing them lots. The formula is amazing! So easy to apply and once it dries it stays forever!

I had to get this set called For Fox Sake because it gives a great arrangement of a ton of different finishes. And the name is great! I was kinda sad that the packaging has black accents instead of silver because I just really love the original silver packaging.

From left to right: Trap, My Jam, Echo Park, Man Eater, Beeper

The swatch missing a label is Man Eater. (oops.)
These swatches are too beautiful!! I'm wearing Trap today and it's and amazing "greige" toned nude.

I came to realize that Come and get it is a pretty exact duper for Angelic from the Huda Beauty Rose Gold palette.

And I think that's about it!

Blogmas 2014: Day 15 ~ Victoria's Secret Passion Struck

I showed these Victoria's Secret set in my What I got for my Birthday and I still haven't talked about them in a specific post. I am already half done the perfume which never happens for me! I thought I should talk about them before I finish them all up!

This stuff smells so good! I don't shop at Victoria's Secret too often so I was quite surprised and happy to receive this. I find it so hard to describe the scent. The description is Fuji apple and vanilla orchid which sounds about right to me! I don't usually like too perfume-y scents however this has just the right amount of sweet scent to it and balance it all out. The perfume is now my favorite perfume ever and I definitely plan to repurchase when I run out. The body butter is very interesting. It feel almost like jello in the tub. It's pretty moisturizing and has the same great scent! I love both of these and am so thankful I received this as a gift.

Anyways, that was just kind of a mini review/chat so i hope you enjoyed! :)

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel ~ Mani Monday/First Impression (Bare Dare)

So after eying it for a while, I went out and picked up the new Sally Hansen miracle gel polish yesterday. I had heard mixed reviews on it but the majority of them were positive. getting gel polish at the salon can't cost up to $50 so I though this would be a cheaper alternative. Each polish was $11.99. I saw it for $9.99 at other stores but none of them had the top coat in stock. It's a bit pricey especially considering you need a separate top coat but I was hoping it would be worth it in the long run.

My mother and I both wanted to try it so we decided on a nude shade called Bare Dare.
packaging was a bit misleading since the black shade and the top coat look nearly identical apart for the lid color.

We were both quite disappointed with the polish. it was extremely sheer and streaky. After one coat you could barely tell ti was there. We added 2 coats and it was super streaky and uneven. There were lots of spots with uneven coverage. I did 3 coats and my Mum decided to stick with 2. After 3 coats, the polish was STILL streaky and uneven. I usual hate using 3 coats since it's much harder to remove. I really wasn't impressed.

You can kind of see the streaks better in this photo. they're much more visible in person.

A few things we did like about this polish was that the brush made it very easy to stay within your nails and create a flawless line. It also dried extremely fast making it faster to paint your nails.

I really hope it is just this shade that is streaky but I'm also  bit scared to shell out another $10 for another possibly streaky polish that I'll never use. I haven't removed it yet so we'll see how that goes and maybe I'll do an update post on lasting power and how well it removes.
Let me know if you've had a different experience with this polsih.
Bye!

Revlon Colorstay Aqua Mineral Makeup ~ First Impression

My friend actually gave this powder to me as she had 2 of them. She got some gift bag set from the drugstore and it had 2 of these inside. She said she didn't like it so she gave me one to try! It's a very unique product and something I would never pick up on my own.

I do like the packaging even though it is a bit bulky. It comes with its own little brush which slides out and clicks into place.

The brush is surprisingly soft as most free brushes are rough. It's not the typical brush I would use for powder but it does its job.

This was actually the first loose face powder I've ever tried. It's a bit messy but fairly easy to contain if you're careful. When you apply it, it almost feels as if you've just wet your brush. it gives a cooling sensation that doesn't last. it's very shear and has little to no coverage. There are shimmery particles throughout the powder which add a glowy dimension to it. I have oily skin so that doesn't really help. I found it doesn't last very long. After an hour or two and notice oiliness peeking through the powder. This didn't work out for me but it could be alright as an under-eye setting powder.

 Lasting power: 6/10
Coverage: 5/10
Price: I've been looking online and seeing prices from $5 to $16! If not on sale, this stuff's pricey! 5/10
Packaging: 7.5/10 Brush is a plus, too much product comes out though.
Blendability: 7/10
Mattifying: 6/10
Would I repurchase?: nope
Would I recommend?: maybe if you have dry skin!
Overall: 6/10 just not for me :)

There's just too much shimmer and it lays on top of your skin with no coverage. It's not for me but everyone's different!
I am thankful for receiving this from a friend and will continue to try to make it work. That's about it!
Bye :)
