Colourpop Haul & First Impressions

Hello! I have been missing this blog so much lately so I am really excited to be posting this. I can't say I'll be back and posting as often as I used to but I'd definitely like to start posting a little more often if I can find the time. Anyways, I recently ordered from Colourpop after they released their new pressed powder eyeshadows! There were a few shades I was really wanting and I have always had the urge to try their matte liquid lipsticks so I went ahead and made an order. The order took about 5 days to ship and after it shipped it came 1 week later. For the most part the shipping was pretty standard and good except for the fact that the highlighter and one of the eyeshadows I ordered came broken :( I contacted Colourpop and they offered a coupon code for the value of the two products which was great. This could be a pretty lengthy post since I like to add lots of pics so get comfy :)

First of all, I love all of their packaging. The attention to detail is amazing!

I decided to pick up 3 of their new shadows in the shades Bel Air, Come and get it, and Goody Two-shoes. Not gonna lie, I mainly bought Bel Air because of the name but it turned out to be a gorgeous crease/transition shade.

I used Bel Air and Come and get it in my look today and I loved them both. Bel Air is the perfect crease shade and it blends so nicely. Come and get it has great pigmentation and is a great pop of color on the lid.

I also got two Super Shock eyeshadows in I heart this and Bill and sadly I heart this came super broken. I tried to swatch it and it's pretty hard to pick up any product in its condition which is super sad because it looks like a beautiful shade.

The texture of these is super interesting, it almost feels like a cream when I dip my finger in and it's pretty spongy. However when I swatch it, it comes off as a powder. Haven't tried these out on the eyes yet so I'll have to see how they are.

The Super Shock highlighter in Wisp looks so beautiful in swatches I saw online and it really is a beautiful color. The texture is the same as the Super Shock eyeshadows. I found it a little harder to get onto my brush than a normal powder highlighter; however once I got it on its a beautiful, pigmented highlight.

Not sure what happened with this one, it looks like it shrunk and shriveled up! I'm wondering if there is something different about the Super Shock metallic formula since both powders that came damaged were metallic shades and the matte shade was fine. I also think it could be caused by temperature change? Who knows.

This is the first cream contour I've ever tried so I can't compare it to much. But I did like it! It blended very easily and gave me a nice subtle, but apparent contour. I did go over it with some bronzer and it looked great! I think I picked the perfect shade (Dove) for my super fair complexion.

Here's my fave part! I've had a huge obsession with liquid matte lipsticks lately and I had to get more. I got the shades Midi and Vice as well as another set of 5 lip products. I was hoping to find the perfect everyday nude but I don't think any of these are that. However I really love these shades and can see myself wearing them lots. The formula is amazing! So easy to apply and once it dries it stays forever!

I had to get this set called For Fox Sake because it gives a great arrangement of a ton of different finishes. And the name is great! I was kinda sad that the packaging has black accents instead of silver because I just really love the original silver packaging.

From left to right: Trap, My Jam, Echo Park, Man Eater, Beeper

The swatch missing a label is Man Eater. (oops.)
These swatches are too beautiful!! I'm wearing Trap today and it's and amazing "greige" toned nude.

I came to realize that Come and get it is a pretty exact duper for Angelic from the Huda Beauty Rose Gold palette.

And I think that's about it!

Covergirl Colorlicious Lipstick ~ Yummy Pink

I picked this up a while ago since I was in need of a new Summer lipsticks! I thought the pink wouldn't be so bright but it turned out to be a really bright, almost Barbie-ish pink.

 The packaging is quite simple.

Yummy pink... not the most exciting name.

It's a pretty classic formula. Quite smooth and easy to apply. I didn't really wear it for too long so I can't really talk about its lasting power.

I really love this shade on the lips! It's such a girly pink. However, it doesn't do to much for the teeth. It makes them look quite a bit yellower than they actually are.

That's it! Have an amazing day!

Nars Lip Pencils ~ Sephora Birthday Gift

Hello there! Sephora has an exciting free birthday gift this year for Beauty Insiders. During your birthday month you can redeem a free set of 2 mini NARS lip pencils which is a pretty good deal if you ask me! For a free gift, the packaging is so nice and the samples are a fair size.

The set comes with a red Velvet Matte Lip Pencil and a nude Satin Lip Pencil. Each full size retails for $31 CA. The nude is a nice wearable shade however the red is quite a bold statement.

One big flaw about these are that they do not twist up. I still haven't figured out a way to get any more product out since I am almost out of the nude shade. If anyone has any idea please leave them below!

The red seems to last a lot longer than the nude since it is matte and glossy shades tend to wear of faster. they do last an average time for lip products though.
The shape of the pencil allows for really easy application.

The color payoff on the red is amazing! It is so opaque and creamy. The shade is really the perfect red! The nude is a bit less opaque but still noticeable.
As far as I've seen they don't really bleed but I haven't worn he red for more than 5 minutes.

This shade is quite wearable and a new favorite of mine!

I love the red matte shade but I don't really have any occasion to wear it!

That is about all for today!

First Aid Beauty Ultra Lip Therapy

Hello! I decided to review another product from my First Aid Beauty set. This time I'm reviewing the Ultra Repair Lip Therapy! I love the packaging on this how it is a squeeze tube, it sets it apart from other lip balms.
At first, it was super creamy and moisturizing and had a really nice super slightly minty scent. After a few months it separated and it quite liquid-y. I found that happened with another squeeze tube lip balm I had. Other than that I really enjoyed it
It was quit moisturizing and lasted a fair amount of time. I enjoy the scent because it isn't too minty but it is the perfect amount.
I don't have too much else to say since it is only a lip balm so that is about it!

Have a good day/night!

Baby Lips Limited Edition Buds

So, I was shopping at Walmart the other day, and I came across a new Baby Lips display! Of course, I could not pass it up. When I scanned it, it only came up as $6 so that gave me even more reason to buy it. The whole display only had this 1 set with 2 limited edition spring shades. i really like them both and I really wanted to share them with you. I would definitely recommend checking your local Walmart or drugstore to try to find these.

The packaging is amazing! The colors are all so Spring-like and they go together perfectly.

The two shades are Oh Orchid! and Petal Rebel.

Oh Orchid! is more of a purple toned pink and Petal Rebel had a coral tone to it. I prefer Petal Rebel sine it's more wearable for me.

I found these to be just as moisturizing and regular Baby Lips. I've noticed all of the new Baby Lips have way less scent. These a have a slight sweet scent but it's not really noticeable.

Swatched, Oh Orchid! on the left, and Petal Rebel on the right.

 Oh Orchid!

Petal Rebel

I really love both shades and can see myself getting lots of use out of them this Spring!

RATINGS:

Color payoff: 9/10 pretty good for sheer balms
Moisture: 9/10
Price: 9/10
Lasting Power: 8/10
Scent: 7/10
Would I repurchase?: Yes!
Would I recommend?: For sure!
Overall: 9/10

Have you seen these around yet?

Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss ~ Hot Shot

Hello there! Today I thought I'd share a review of a gloss I got on Boxing Day last year! it the Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lip Gloss in the shade Hot Shot. It's a very beautiful color and it's a great sized gloss!

To be quite honest, I didn't really like this gloss. I don't think it was plumping, but it felt very tingly and minty which I really didn't enjoy. The color was alright but I really couldn't get over the feeling. it didn't go away either. As long as a wore it, my lips felt tingly and minty. To me, that was very uncomfortable and completely turned me off of the gloss. It was also quite sticky which I also do not enjoy. my lips were sticking together and my hair was getting all caught up in the gloss. The only things this gloss had to offer was the color and I already have another lip gloss with a very similar shade. I bought this on Boxing Day ads one of the $12 or so deals. I gave the blush from the set to my Mum and she said she did not like it either. Oh well, I'm glad a tried it in a set rather than wasting $25 on it full price.

I'm not saying this is a bad lip gloss, this is just my personal opinions. I know some people may really enjoy tingly, sticky glosses and if so, this would be perfect!

The packaging is very pretty and classic and the wand applicator is oddly long. Although the length gives nice application. I noticed this lip gloss also gave off a really high shine which looked really pretty. For a gloss it gave a fairly good color payoff on the lips. It was a nice sheer coral.

RATINGS

Color payoff: 8/10
Wear: 6/10
Feeling/texture: 1/10
Price: 4/10
Would I repurchase?: No
Would I recommend?: If you think you'd like this!
Overall: 4/10

This gloss was just not for me! Have an amazing day everyone!
