MAC 187 Duo Fibre Face Brush~Review!

Hello everyone!
Today I have a quick little review on a brush I've had for nearly a year now. It was my first ever MAC (and high-end) brush I'd ever tried. I bought it thinking I'd use it for foundation and I've found many other uses along the way. I hope you enjoy!

Photo: When I first bought it, before I used it.

Photo: After a while of using. As you can see it has a few stray hairs and it doesn't look at smooth but it still feels very soft and works well.

I really like the appearance of this brush. It has a very sleek and sturdy handle, and when the bristles are clean, it looks very smooth.
This brush was very pricey at around $50 Canadian. I did buy it for myself after saving up and doing my research. I have to say I am glad I bought it and I don't regret it. I use it mainly for blush as it gives a natural, light application. On occasion I'll pull it out for powder or liquid foundation but my favorite use is blush.
This brush definitely DOES shed. I did know this prior to purchasing but I went ahead and did it anyway. I wish it didn't shed, but I've gotten used to it. The softness of the bristles makes up for it.
The bristles are so soft and they glide across you face so effortlessly.
The bristles do slightly clump when used with liquid foundation but it does give a nice, blended application and an airbrushed appearance.
I do wish there wasn't as many stray hairs after just 1 year of use especially for the price!

OVERALL: 8.5/10

Price: A little pricey
Use: 9/10
Downside: It sheds!
Would I recommend: Yes!

Hope this was helpful, bye!

MAC Fix+ Review!

I tried to post this yesterday on the 1st, but I was out all day and couldn't find the time so it's going up today!
I've seen so many people on YouTube and blogs using MAC Fix+ and I didn't even know what it was. I researched it a bit and it sounded really cool to me. I also read great review which I always do before buying a product! Even if I read good reviews, the product isn't guaranteed to work for me. So instead of spending the $24 on the full size, I bought the travel size for $12. I just wanted to test it out and see if I liked it before I completely splurged.

Usage:
I usually only use this for 2 main things.
The first usage, is as a makeup setting spray to give my face a dewy look.
The second usage, is spraying my brushes before dipping them into eyeshadow. This makes the eyeshadows last all day even without eye primer!

More uses of the product I've heard about are:
-As a cool, refreshing mist before makeup.
-To dilute thick foundations or moisturizers
-To give a matte face a dewy glow
-Mix with pigments
I'm sure there are many more but those are the ones I've heard of!

I really like the packaging of this. It has the option to lock the spray cap for travel. It's also a very sleek bottle.
As for the product, I really like that too!
I don't like to look too matte or cake-y, and this is perfect to prevent that! I spritz about 3 sprays after my makeup and it adds such a  natural finish. It also aids in helping my makeup last even longer. I haven't seen any drugstore products similar to this which is disappointing. I may just splurge and buy the full size next time I have the opportunity.
This product is very unique, but it's not something I couldn't live without. It's definately a luxury product that isn't necessary in my makeup routine. I could easily use less powder or highlighter for a more dewy look, and I could just wet my brushes with water to make shadows last longer.
I do think this is a fun product to play around with though!
Overall, I'd give this an 8/10. It does work really well for it's purpose, but it is a bit pricey.

I hope this was helpful, Bye!

Product of the Week: MAC Studio Finish Concealer

So this week I've been using the MAC Studio Finish concealer a ton! I got a huge zit at the start of the week and this was my life saver! It completely covered it all!
Its really creamy but also thick. It's fairly easy to blend and if you set it with powder, it stays in place.

I'm in the sahde NW20.
Anyways, there's not much tos ay about this other than it covers great and wears well throughout the day. I'd definitely recommend it.
Bye!

Blogmas 2013: Day 12! Winter Makeup Routine

I've never done anything like this before, but I decided to try to do a makeup routine!
I'm definitely not the best at makeup, but I have a lot of fun with it! I usually go with a fairly natural look although it seems like a use a ton of products.
I defiantely don't do this everyday, just when I want a little extra oomph!
First for face, I use quite a few things to reach a flawless complexion. I start by applying the Maybelline Fit Me stick foundation all around my face focusing on problem areas. For my under-eyes, I use the covergirl fresh complexion concealer in a shade lighter than my skin-tone to help brighten my eyes. I use the Hard Candy Glamoflauge concealer on any blemishes or redness and I set it all with MAC select sheer pressed powder in NW20.
To give my face more dimension, I use the Nyx blush in peach, and Benefit's Watt's Up!
I prefer to skip bronzer in the winter.
I prime my eyes with ELF's eyelid primer under my eyeshadows. For eyeliner, I love Maybelline's eye studio gel liner. I have complete control over the line and it's perfect every time! To make myself appear more awake, especially on those days I sleep in, I use the Rimmel Scandal Eyes waterproof kohl kajal eyeliner in nude. It's way more natural and less harsh than a white eyeliner.
My favorite mascara of the moment is Maybelline's The Rocket. I recently repurchased this and fell in love once again!
For eyeshadow, I use this ELF palette with 32 shadows. I can't remember the name of it but I remember getting it on clearance for less than $5!
I use 1 as a brow-bone and inner corner highlight. I mix 2 & 3 over my entire eyelid with 4 & 5 in the crease! I fill my brows in with 6 which is extremely similar to MAC's omega eyeshadow.
Swatches of products mentioned
I set my brows with the ELF wet gloss lash and brow clear mascara, it keeps them in place all day long!
I've recently been wearing this Sally Hansen Colorfast tint+moisture balm a ton! It's in the shade in the pink and it's super neural for everyday wear. This smells amazing and is super moisturizing.
Well that's my makeup routine for winter! I hope you enjoyed!
Come back tomorrow for Blogmas day 13!
Bye! =)

My brow routine!

I'd like to start off by apologizing for not posting on many new and high-end products. I've been trying to not buy makeup products unless I need them for a few months. It's really tough because I see new products around every corner. In I few months time I will be sure to have more recent reviews and posts. =) On with my eyebrow routine!
I personally think I have a pretty low maintenance eyebrow routine. I only use 4 tools and products and it takes me little to no time to do them.
I recently got my eyebrows waxed for the first time and it exposed me to a whole new section of makeup; the brow section. Now I can't leave the house without filling in my eyebrows.
First I pluck them. I don't do this often, usually only every 3-4 days and sometimes only once a week. I don't plan on getting them waxed too often because I find it easier (and cheaper) to just pluck the stray hairs myself.
The tweezers I use are just pointed ones from Revlon. I don't actually remember where these are from or how much the cost but they're most-likely under $10 at the drugstore.they do a pretty decent job and are easy to use. (excuse my chipped nail polish)
I fill in my eyebrows using this angled eyeliner brush from Quo and brush them into place using a mascara wand sample from Sephora which works just fine for me. It's just a free sample wand used to try on mascara at Sephora!
To fill in my brows, I use Mac's eyeshadow in omega. I heard that you are supposed to use a shade or two lighter than your natural brow color so this works well for me. (it's a little messy).
bye!
