Beauty Tip: Long lasting smudged liner

Here is a super simple and easy beauty trick to get long lasting, smudged eyeliner!

Start by lining your eyes with any eyeliner of choice. Felt, liquid, pencil, anything! I went for my typical wing.

Next choose a complementary color. If your liner is brown use brown, if it's black, use black.  I like to use a matte (or fairly matte) black shade. I chose Blackout by Urban Decay.

Trace your liner with the eyeshadow while smudging it out at the same time. This does 3 things: Makes your liner matte, makes it last longer, and gives it a smudged, less harsh look.

And of course, silly me forgot to take a result photo! You can kind of see it above.

And that's it, your liner will last for days! (well, not really days, maybe one day)
Bye, now.

Blogmas 2014: Day 11 ~ e.l.f. cream eyeliner review

December is just flying by and I still need to get a ton of Christmas shopping in! Speaking of Christmas shopping, this liner would make a great gift now that I think of it. Anyways, I'm going to be reviewing e.l.f.'s studio cream eyeliner. It's only $3 at Target!

I got it a while back in the shade coffee since I don't have a brown liner that I really like. I didn't expect much from this but I ended up being quite surprised.

It comes with a small brush which I don't find myself using due to it's size. It does seem useful for travel however.

The packaging is nice and sleek and looks very professional, as expected from the e.l.f. studio line.

The liner is quite creamy and if you don't get enough on your brush, it can look quite sheer. However if you do apply enough, the outcome is a sleek, opaque line. This is great when I want my liner to look a bit more natural or less harsh.

After a few hours of wear, I definitely noticed a bit of fading but it never smudged or smeared on my. I did wish it lasted longer but for $3 I can't complain.

OVERALL:

Lasting Power: 7/10
Packaging: 8/10
Color payoff: 7/10
Price: 9/10
Would I repurchase?: Possibly
Would I recommend?: Yes if you're looking for an inexpensive liner
Overall: 7.5/10

That's all, enjoy your Thursday!

Prestige Liquid Eyeliner ~ Review

I recently reviewed the Prestige pencil liner, and when I purchased that, I also picked up the liquid liner in FAME. It's a very tiny bottle containing 0.1 oz or 3ml. I found this on clearance for around $2 when the regular price is $8.99.

It's very easy to apply and has a very typical sponge tip. The color is very opaque and glides on easily. It's very metallic and has a beautiful color. It really makes your eyes pop. It's a bit less dramatic than black eyeliner, however it is still noticeable. It lasted all day yet was easy to remove. The line was still precise and it had not smudged by the end of the day.

I really like this liner and would love to try more colors!

Overall...

Color payoff: 10/10
Lasting power: 10/10
Price: 8/10 Not bad, especially with a sale! A little pricey when full price.
Would I repurchase?: Yea!
Would I recommend?: Yes!
Overall: 9/10

I hope you enjoyed & that this was helpful in some way!

Prestige Soft Blend Khol Eyeliner ~ Review

I shared this in a haul a while back and I thought it was about time I reviewed it! Whenever I wear this eyeliner I get compliments on it! I really wish my eyes were blue, but since they're brown, I like to wear blue eyeliner on occasion. I found this at the drugstore on sale for $2! I believe the full price is around $8 so that was a steal!

Since it's a soft blend khol eyeliner, I expected that it would be similar to the Rimmel Scandal eyes liners. However it was actually in a typical pencil form!

It's in the shade LAGOON which is a beautiful, medium metallic blue. It is extremely creamy and blend easily just as the name says.

On the other end is a smudger which I don't find myself using too often. I enjoy putting this on as winged eyeliner or even on the waterline. It adds the perfect pop of color to a neutral eye!
It wears fairly well and the color was still quite vibrant by the end of the day.

OVERALL:

Price: sale: 10/10 regular: 6/10 A bit pricey
Lasting power: 9/10
Color payoff: 9/10
Blend ability: 8/10
Would I repurchase?: I have a lot of liners so probably not
Would I recommend?: Yeah!
Overall: 9/10

I haven't fallen in love with this liner but I can definitely see myself reaching for it often.
That's all, enjoy the weekend!

Jordana Fabu Liner ~ Review

Hello there! I'm still making my way through all of my recent purchases and this is another one! I had heard a few people talk about this liner, saying the loved it so I figure why not try it since it's only about $3! I found it at Walgreens during my San Diego trip.
(Disclaimer: This was one of my first times testing out editing my photos so I hope it's not overdone!)

The packaging is pretty standard for felt liner. I got the shade black since I prefer it to brown.

The tip wasn't as fine as I had anticipated. my favorite liner is Maybelline's master precise, and it's so thin and easy to use. I didn't love this liner as I found it difficult to achieve a thin line. I like thin lines as I find thick liner looks too harsh on me. It does last long and it very black but it applies too thick.

It just doesn't work for me personally, but it could be useful for my occasional dramatic looks!

Packaging: 10/10 average
Price: $3 10/10
Lasting power: 9/10 mostly all day
Preciseness: 5/10
Blackness: 9/10
Would I repurchase?: not likely
Would I recommend?: if you like a thicker line

That's about all for my review, I hope it was helpful!

The many ways of eyeliner

I am very bad at taking photos of my own eyes, so please bear with me. Anyways, eyeliner is one of my favorites parts of doing my makeup, so I thought I'd share some different looks with you. I apologize if they are unclear or blurry, I had a lot of trouble with the photos.
Regardless, I hope you enjoy!

Bye for now.

My Maybelline Collection! Best & Worst

Hello Everyone!
My mind drew a blank trying to brainstorm ideas for today's post. I ended up coming up with the idea of doing a makeup brand collection and showing the best and worst of my collection. I decided to start with Maybelline as it's one of my favorite drugstore brands! I hope you enjoy this new little segment/idea!

Starting with face, I've got 3 products!
Dream Fresh BB Cream: Around $9.99 This product has an amazing SPF of 30 and it's very lightweight! It doesn't provide much coverage but it blurs the skin and has moisturizing benefits. 8.5/10

Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser: Around $9.99 This wasn't one of my favorites from Maybelline. I feel like it very slightly blurred the appearance of my pores, but I could definitely still notice them. I was a bit disappointing and I regret purchasing this.
6/10

Fit Me Concealer: Around $6 This concealer is amazing! It's very affordable and gives amazing coverage to under-eye circles! I use this daily and it blends so easily!
10/10

Onto eyes!
Master Precise Liner: Around $7 This is very precise and gives a great winged look. It's very easy to use and lasts long too!
9/10

Eye Studio Gel Liner: Around $10 This is amazing! It is so intensely black and is so creamy and smooth. It's very easy to apply with a thin brush and it last all day without fading and smudging! This is definitely one of my favorites from Maybelline!
10/10

Eye Studio Baked Shadow: Around $6 This is not a bad product but it's nothing special. It's fairly pigmented but doesn't last a super long time.
7/10

Single Shadow: Around $4 I didn't really like this product as it's not very pigmented and it doesn't last. It just doesn't do much for me.
5/10

Lastly, Lips!
Baby Lips: Around $4 These are another favorite of mine! They are so moisturizing and give a light splash of color. They last a while and smell great too!
9.5/10

Color Whisper: Around $8 This is also fairly moisturizing and has great color payoff! It gives off more color than Baby Lips but less than a lipstick.
8/10

That's all for my Maybelline Collection! I've also tried many of their mascara but I don't currently have any. I hope you enjoyed!
Bye!

My Top 5 Eye Products!

So I'm back on schedule for today! I'm trying to post every other day in March but I can't make any promises.
Today's post is going to be my Top 5, Holy Grail eye products! These are products I use nearly everyday & love!

1. Elf eyelid primer ($1)
I absolutely love this eye primer! It makes my eyeshadows appear super vibrant and it makes them last for hours with no creasing.

2. Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow ($24 full size)
I have two minis that I got in a Benefit set I received for Christmas and I love them!
The color selection is amazing and the glide on so smoothly onto your eyelid. They have such a  velvety texture an the last for so long!
I have a full review on them here!

3. Maybelline EYESTUDIO Gel Eyeliner (around $10)
I think I've talked about this before on my blog because it's my favorite eyeliner. It glides on with such precision and gives me complete control over the line. It lasts all day and still looks flawless at the end of the day. It's also from the drugstore!

4. Rimmel Scandal Eyes Nude Waterproof Eyeliner (around $6)
Another eyeliner, but this time for the waterline. This complety brightens up my eyes and makes me look more awake. It's also a great formula making it easy to slide onto the waterline without tugging.

5. Maybelline the Rocket Mascara (around $6)
And the 5th product is my favorite mascara! This gives amazing volume with no little to no clumps! The formula is amazing and it has a jet black color. It lasts all day, although it can be a little bit difficult to remove.
Thanks for reading, Bye! =)

The perfect eyeliner!

Sorry for not posting yesterday. I was tired and I completely forgot!
Anyways, today I was looking at my eyeliners and I noticed I have a few different types. I don't have many eyeliners because I don't wear it often, but the ones I do have are all different.
So here they are.
I chose 4 slightly different liners.

Starting with pencil liners. Pencil liners have many pros and cons. They're great for tight lining and lining your waterline, but i find them tricky to use when trying to line my upper lash-line. I have trouble getting the line close to my lashes.

Pencil eyeliners can be great for smudging out for a more natural, less harsh look. Brown eyeliner can also add a more natural touch, especially on blondes.

There are a few types of liquid liner. I've never tried gel liner but I do have felt tip and just regular liquid liner. I personally think The felt tip is easier to use. I have more control and I gives a more precise liner.

I'm still experimenting with eyeliners and I'm definitely no expert, but these are my opinions on the different types of eyeliners.
Bye, xx
