Mani Monday: Neon Pink!

Mani Monday ~ Summer Nude
For some reason I haven't been super into bright nail colors for this season. Neutral colors go with way more outfits and I think they look like as nice. This week, I opted for a nice mauve nude to paint my nails with.
It apply super nicely with just 2 coats!
This is one of my favorite nail polishes ever, and I'd recommend it to anyone!

Mani Monday: OPI Mod About You
It's been a minute since my last Mani Monday! I wanted to bring it back with OPI's Mod About You! I had seen it all over Pinterest, and I was super excited to finally try it for myself.
For an OPI polish, I was a bit disappointed. It didn't apply very nicely. It was kind of splotchy and on the edge of goopey. On the second coat, I needed to get a lot on the brush in order for it not to drag across the polish and mess it all up. I feel like it's probably because of the shade since it's such an opaque creamy shade. The color however is gorgeous! It's a pale pink but it appears quite bright at the same time. It's such a clean and smooth shade and perfect for the Spring/Summer time!
I think this shade would complement a tan perfectly! I have a bit of trouble applying it but I had success cleaning it up afterwards. I chose this polish for my traveling bit last week! it's just such a bright, mood-boosting color!
I tried to get some photos in different lights since it looks different in all types of lighting!
I hope you enjoyed, Happy Monday (is that an oxy moron?)!

Mani Monday: Spring manicure
I recently painted my nails and it soon became my favorite Spring mani! I received many compliments while wearing it and I had to share it with you! It's perfect for Spring with the lilac and the silver glitter. it looked like a gel polish manicure and I'm obsessed with it!
I used Essie's under wear? on all nails minus my ring fingers. For the ring fingers, I first used Sally Hansen's Insta-Dri Silver Sweep, topped with Essie's set in stones. I think this combination went together flawlessly.
I was surprised at how long this lasted. My manicures usually last around 1-2 days without chips. This one lasted around 4-5!
Lilac is my new favorite color and I love incorporating it into everything!

Mani Monday: FAIL!
A while ago I found the L'Oreal Colour Riche Nail Lingerie stickers on sale at Walmart for only $3. I really enjoy the Sally Hansen nails tickers and decided to give them a go for the cheap price. I forgot about them for a while but recently found them again and decided to try them. Let me tell you, these were a HUGE fail! I got the "shade" Something About Her As I thought it would be a really pretty overlay to a solid polish.
I read the instructions carefully to ensure I didn't mess anything up. I used OPI's drip dry drops to dry my nail polish. After letting my nails dry a tiny bit more I tried to apply the sticker and it slid right off my nail. I figured it was because of the drying drops, so I wiped down my nails and tried again. It stuck a little better this time. As I carefully flattened the sticker, tiny wrinkles showed up all over the nail. I assumed this was because it was my first try, but no. All of the nails turned out like this no matter what I did. The isntrustions said to file off the excess hanging off the nail, but that didn't work at all. It would hardly budge and I had to use nail clippers to trim it. The edges were jagged and kept getting caught on everything.
My nails looked awful and kept getting caught on any fabric so after only a few hours I had to remove them. The peeled right off super easily making me assume they wouldn't have lasted long anyways.
Even thought these were only $3, they were a waste of money. I really dislike doing bad reviews like this but I thought I should share my feelings if you're thinking of buying these. I'm not sure if they were limited edition or not.
These would have looked beautiful if they had actually worked. Maybe it was the way I was applying them, who knows. I have heard many positive reviews about these too.
Let me know if you've tried these before, and what you think of them!

OPI Trend on Ten
I've never really tried many OPI polishes before, so receiving this as a Christmas gift was the perfect opportunity. I had always been a China Glaze fan but recently noticed their polishes not lasting as long on me. This little gift set comes with 10 mini OPI polishes. There's a slight variety to the shades however they are mostly red & pink.
After trying a few of these polishes, I fell in love. The formula applies so nicely and smooth. I didn't notice any chipping until the 2nd or 3rd day and my nails usally chip within the 1st.
The thing I wasn't too fond of in this set was the abundance of reds. Red nails look great but they are the MOST work ever! They are so difficult to apply and perfect and removing the polish is a NIGHTMARE. This set came with 4 red polishes and 1 super dark purple that is almost black. Other than that, I really like the set.
I actually already had one of these shades (Lincoln Park After Dark) in full sized so it was perfect to compare. The minis in this set are quite small. I've only used some of them once so I can't say how long they last but I can't see them lasting longer than 2-4 uses. Most of the polishes need about 2 coats.
This would be great as one gift or to split up as two! This was their holiday 2014 kit but I believe it is still available on some sites and in some stores. I actually saw some on clearance at Winners the other day.
The shades I've tried are Haven't The Foggiest, Bubble Bath, Tickle My Francey, Princesses Rule! & Lincoln Park After Dark.
My favorites are Tickle My Francey and Haven't The Foggiest. Tickle My Francey is the perfect mauve neutral shade. It is such a smooth shade that works with any outfit and season.
Haven't The Foggiest
(Chipped) Bubble Bath. Accent: Princesses Rule!
Overall, I think this set it great for anyone wanting to try some OPI polishes. I believe it costs around $20 which isn't bad for 10 polishes.
I would definitely recommend this if you can still get your hands on it! If you can't get this kit definitely try out some OPI polishes.

OPI Drip Dry Drops ~ Review
I've always been a fairly impatient person. I don't really enjoy waiting for things, I'd much rather be doing something productive with my time. I've always found myself trying to find the perfect time to paint my nails so that I know I won't smudge them. I received OPI's Drip Dry Drops for Christmas and I love them! They make painting your nails way less time consuming.
I couldn't even guess on how these work but all I know is that they do! After applying my final coat of polish, I apply one drop of Drip Dry drops to each nail. My nails become instantly dry and I can move on to do anything. I usually wait around an hour for my nails to dry. I would definitely recommend this especially if you're short on time. I believe these cost around $10-$15 for this size. They are a bit pricey but I find it worth it.
OVERALL:
Drying: 10/10
Price:7/10 A bit pricey
Would I repurchase?: YES!
Would I recommend?: Yep
Would I recommend?: Yep
Overall: 9/10
I don't know what else to say about these so that's about it!

Mani Monday ~ OPI Bubble Bath & Princesses Rule!
I completely forgot to take photos of my most recent manicure! They were chipped by the time I thought of it so I decided to just repaint. Since I received the OPI Trend on Ten kit for Christmas, I thought I'd try a couple of shades from that. I was in the mood for a neutral, girly look and that's exactly how this turned out. The pale pink is Bubble Bath by OPI, and the glittery pink is Princesses Rule! also by OPI. I had to do about 4 coats of Bubble Bath since it was so sheer. I think I've found my new favorite neutral pink! As you can probably tell, I've already chipped a couple of nails :0
I'm pretty sad that it already chipped, but I'm pretty sure it's because I didn't let them dry for long enough. This manicure is perfect for everyday with a bit of color.
That's all! It's not my best manicure, but I still like the combo!

Mani Monday ~ Essie Gel Nail Color
Okay, so this Mani Monday is going to be a bit all over the place! I really wanted to show my current nail color, however, I don't really know the shade, or much about the polish. I painted my nails with a friend I didn't catch the names of the polishes. I used the Essie Gel Nail Color system with an LED nail lamp. I never ever knew Essie had a gel line and I have no idea where you could buy it. I searched online to find the colors and couldn't find much. I believe the blue is either Like Turqoise or Net Worth. I could be wrong, but those are the colors that looked most similar. The glitter (I'm fairly sure) is Pile on the Lux. Sorry that I don't have the shades or much info!
My nails weren't drying, even after an hour or so. I got a bit frustrated and tried to wipe off the polish with a tissue. I guess that's all I needed to do since it removed the sticky layer and left me with the gel color! My nails lasted about 6 days. They didn't really chip at all, however the downfall was that they began to peel off.
Overall, I probably wouldn't use again or recommend. It was a lot of work and probably requires a bit more practice and expertise (which I don't have ;). Have you tried or heard of this?
