Blogmas 2013: Day 18! GHD Classic IV Styler

Today I'm doing a review on a hair product!
I don't talk much about hair on my blog, but I'd really like to start incorporating it!
I'm going to talk about the GHD Classic IV Styler I actually received last Christmas as a gift.
I had never had a fancy straightener like this before and I was super excited to try it out! I have very mixed opinions on this so lets just get started.
It retails for $185 US dollars on the GHD website. On Sephora online it retails, for $185 US dollars or $225 CA dollars.
"The original multi-award-winning ghd classic styler is the perfect tool for quick, effortless straightening and easy curls and waves. Suitable for all hair types and lengths. A brilliant all-rounder for everyday styling."
PROS:
Heats up very fast
Long Cord
Lightweight and easy for travel
Glides across hair smoothly
Sleek
Simple
Features a "sleep mode"
1-2 year guarantee depending where you buy
Pin Straight Hair
CONS:
No heat setting
Takes a very long time to straighten hair
Pricey
Must take very small sections of hair
Flyaways
Does not lock closed

A few of my favorite features:
It heats up super fast and is ready in less than a minute! It also beeps when it's ready to be used. It has an automatic sleep mode in case you forget to turn it off, activated when not in use for 30 minutes. It gives you the straightest hair!
I dislike that there is no way to change the temperature! It takes such a long time to straighten my hair with this. I have to tie off the top section of my hair, take tiny 1/2 inch strands, and run the flat iron over multiple times for pin straight hair. For me it takes at least 30 minutes to complete my whole head, keep in mind I have every thick, long hair. I have noticed with my other flat iron I can finish straightening within 15 minutes! Also I dislike the price! Nearly $200 for this isn't worth it to me. A flat iron that can handle thicker strands, with a temperature setting would be much more convenient.
I use this when I want very straight hair, for special events or when I feel I have the time. I do find myself having to tame flyaways after using this.
I wouldn't recommend this to someone with thick/long hair or someone who doesn't have the time in the morning. If you're looking for something that heats up fast and gives pin-straight hair, this is perfect!
That's pretty much all I can say about it, I really hope this helped!
Bye!

Blogmas 2013: Day 17! My Skincare Routine

To be honest, I don't really know why I'm posting this today.
My skincare routine is the bare minimum. I wash my face, occasionally use a scrub, and moisturize, that's it! I found that after trying various acne treatments, creams and other miscellaneous face products, none of them did anything to help acne. If anything, they made it worse! I have very sensitive skin which may be the issue, I can't tell. I decided to cut down on product use and let my acne cure itself and it did! I definitely still have acne, but it isn't as bad as it used to be!
My skin is feeling softer than ever now, and I have brought the acne down to a minimum. When I do get the odd pimple or two, I try to resist popping it unless I have to. I keep all products off of it and wash my face twice a day (I usually just wash my face once a day).
First of all, I wash my face at night using the Clean & Clear Morning burst fruit infusions mandarin orange face wash (That's a mouthful). This is oil free and super gentle. It smells amazing and makes your skin felling extremely soft!
Every other day or two, I use the Queen Helene cocoa butter facial scrub. This scrub is natural, and very gentle on the skin. The exfoliating beads are very tiny and not abrasive, but it still feels nice. I prefer the Mint Julep kind but I decided to try this one out, I don't like the smell though!
I tried a few different day creams and this one is my favorite! I use this day and night although I'm thinking of trying out the same night cream. This is a super thick formula and give tons of hydration. It contains SPF15 which is great for all year!
That's pretty much my skincare routine, very basic!
Thanks, Bye!

Blogmas 2013: Day 16! Mani Monday

Another Mani Monday!
I had originally planned a red glitter mani, but after the struggle of getting last week's glitter polish off, I decided to pass and opt for a metallic silver!
Left: No flash. Right: Flash
This polish is a super pretty festive color if you're trying to stay away from reds. it applies super opaque (I only used one coat!) but I've noticed it chipping already! :0
That's it!
Bye! =)
